Enlighten
At Aura Dental, we offer teeth whitening with Enlighten, and we use this product because it guarantees a Vita Shade B1 for all patients. With Enlighten’s Evolution professional whitening, we can achieve lighter teeth by up to 16 shades lighter.
How does Enlighten work?
For patients who need to lighten their teeth due to stains caused by coffee, red wine or smoking, we will first provide a special toothpaste that prepares teeth for the Enlighten treatment. This toothpaste contains properties that are found in the enamel of your teeth, and it reduces tooth sensitivity and helps the whitening process to be successful.
Once you have used your toothpaste, we will then get custom-made trays manufactured for your mouth. We will need to take impressions and send these away for the trays to be made to fit you. Once we receive your trays, we will give them and the whitening gel to you to take home with you. You will put the gel into the trays and wear them overnight every night for a fortnight. After the two weeks, you will then have a final 40-minute treatment at our clinic to get the final boost to your fabulous results. We will then give you more gel to use for maintenance at home when you feel you need another boost every now and again as well.
Does teeth whitening hurt?
The purpose of the special toothpaste that we provide you with is to minimise any tooth sensitivity, so you shouldn’t experience pain. We also provide you with the exact amount of gel you need to put in your trays each night, so there is no need to worry about it going anywhere it shouldn’t!
